4 Ways to Keep Your Mouth Healthy
Let’s face it, when your mouth is happy, you are happy, which also makes all of us at World Wide Daily Dental happy. We want you to stay healthy and happy by doing these four simple things to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape.
Eat These Foods
Drink lots of water, eat all the dairy, keep your meat lean, stock up on fruits and veggies, and grab a handful of nuts on your way out the door. These foods go a long way to maintaining your dental health.
Stay away from sugary beverages, too much citrus, sticky foods like dried fruit, and crunchy snacks like potato chips.
Grab This When Traveling
It’s not unheard of to misplace or lose your toothbrush (or luggage) while traveling, so stock up and have an extra handy. Buy a 2-pack of our Better Toothbrush to have as a just-in-case supply.
For the in-between moments when you can’t actually get to a sink to brush your teeth, keep small dental touch up tools in your bag or pocket. The 3-in-OneTM and Oral-in-OneTM Floss-pick-brushes are the perfect tools for keeping teeth clean between brushings.
Brush at Least Twice a Day
According to the American Dental Association, brushing twice a day for two minutes is one of the easiest (and most important) things you can do for your dental and overall health. Use a soft-bristled brush, like our Better Toothbrush, and be sure to replace your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.
Get Chewing
Who doesn’t love gum, especially when it helps keep your mouth healthy? Chewing sugarless gum increases the flow of saliva, which washes away food and other debris, neutralizes acids produced by bacteria in the mouth, and provides disease-fighting substances throughout your mouth.
Look for chewing gum with the ADA Seal to be certain that it’s sugarless and good for your teeth.
Don’t forget that the most important thing you can do for your mouth is to visit the dentist every 6 months.
The care you show towards your teeth now will benefit you in your later years. Check out our blog on oral health and aging.
